The story

Tonight's bait consisted of apples, apple peels, and cores left over from today’s apple pie, placed near the grill. The bait went out at 8:59 PM, but the patio remained completely quiet for hours. The apples sat untouched in the dark for 212 minutes before the first visitor finally made an appearance to claim the bait.

Barnaby the Skunk arrived at 12:31 AM, taking his time to enjoy the apples over a three-minute visit. Soon after he left, an opossum wandered in to sample the bait at 12:33 AM. The skunk later returned to ensure his claim, chewing on the remaining cores. By 2:00 AM, a cat briefly inspected the area, bending down for a quick taste of the scattered apples.
